I rigged something up in Flash with some old footage I had. I will re-shoot footage with a better camera and use after effects for the final piece.

November 23, 2007 by adamprimmerChange of plan
November 18, 2007 by adamprimmerAfter my first one on one meeting with Mike Punt I have decided to change my idea. Staying with the idea of technology and education I am going to look at how mobile phones are having a negative effect on learning in the classroom by causing a distraction. I am going to look at how the costs of this technology could possibly be turned into benefits. I want research past attempts to resolve this problem. I also want to examine the way disruptive and non-disruptive mobile phones are managed in places such as hospitals and cinemas, exploring how they could possibly be integrated positively into these environments.

November 2, 2007 by adamprimmerI plan to track the motion of a skateboard by attaching coloured tape to the edge and filming the motions. I will then use final cut pro to extract the movement of the tape. Using the data collected I hope to layer up a profile of the paths of the board over the obstacle.
Skateboarding, Space and the City
November 1, 2007 by adamprimmerAfter a meeting with Shaun I have started reading Skateboarding, Space and the City by Iain Borden as it links to my project. It looks at the history of the sport and how skateboarders experience and understand the city.

Project Proposal
October 19, 2007 by adamprimmerFor my final major project I plan to make some sort of interactive e learning object. This will link into my dissertation subject, which is based around elearning. I am unsure about the specifics of the project but I would like to make something that is immersive and not just an interface using a mouse to point and click. It could involve the use of motion sensors to track movement either of either a people or some sort of controller or object. Being immersed should make it easier to use and learning the content easier to take in. I am not sure about the subject it will teach or the users it will be aimed at but I hope by doing more research my ideas will become clearer.
